Small Award Scheme - Professional and Organisational Development team of Public Health Wales

The Professional and Organisational Development function of Public Health Wales is inviting applications to its Small Award Scheme.

The Professional and Organisational Development function of Public Health Wales supports national workforce and professional development across the whole of the public health system in Wales and is running its Small Award Scheme for the second year running.

The Small Awards Scheme will look to fund opportunities for increasing capacity and capability within public health. Awards made through the Small Award Scheme will be used to promote and support the development of public health skills and competence across Wales. Applications from applicants from a wide range of backgrounds in the health, public health, social care and voluntary sectors will be considered.

The Prince's Countryside Fund

The Prince's Countryside Fund for 2011 has now opened to applications.

This Fund has been set up to help rural areas in the United Kingdom to become more sustainable. The focus areas for the Fund are:

• projects to improve the sustainability of British farming in areas of deprivation;
• projects to improve the sustainability of rural communities; and
• projects to reconnect people with the countryside.

The total amount of funding available in this round of funding will be up to £250,000. The maximum level of funding for individual projects will be £50,000. The Fund can pay for a portion or the entirety of the costs of a project and applications for capital, project and resource funding will be considered.

Applications will be accepted from organisations that can demonstrate the support of the community which will benefit from the project and show evidence of consulting the community.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 18 May 2011.

PRS for Music Foundation - Women Make Music

The PRS for Music Foundation - Women Make Music programme has been created to draw attention to the gender gap within music creation and to explore how the work of women music creators can be better supported.

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to support the creation of new music, across any genre, which is written by a woman creator living and working in the United Kingdom. Funding is available to:

• support organisations, including promoters, festivals, organisations and performance groups, to commission work by UK-based women music creators; and
• support women performer/creators to write new tracks/pieces that they will perform live within one year.

Eligible costs include: commission fee paid to the music creator; fees for writing the new music; fees to musicians; rehearsal costs; marketing costs; equipment hire; and venue hire.

The deadlines for applications are 13 May 2011 and 8 August 2011.

FRIDAY FUNDING TIP

It's that time of year again, with the new financial year starting, many funders will be looking for evidence of difference made. It may seem obvious but log your results when they happen, so that you have a accurate record. If you try and collate them at the end, you may miss something, and its all information that builds a a picture of your organisation, that may be useful in the future.

Even if you haven't had grant funding, it's still a good idea to log this information, so that you can tell your supporters, and keep them engaged.
